Excellent alternative to Chai Pani. Chai Pani hardly has any availability and typically you have to wait for an hour to get in. Dilbar was a great find and they did not disappoint us. We loved the food. It was very flavorful and authentic. This is a Delhi style street food, so if you order stuff like fried rice they may not get it fully right. But if you order something local to Delhi (Punjabi food in general) such as Cholle Bhature, aloo parantha etc you will not be disappointed. Portion sizes were very good. It is priced right for the market in which it is serving. Overall a great experience. Would certainly return.
Rarely you'll find Indian street style food in NC. Asheville is already blessed with Chai Pani and Dilbar dared to open shop right next to the main highlight which is gutsy. A casual Punjabi restaurant with throwback interior decor and sizable portions, Dilbar does well on almost all fronts. We ordered the schezwan noodles which had the right spice level. The veggie frankie roll and the aloo paranthas were not quite authentic north indian but decent enough for the US market. The prices are reasonable and they have peppy bollywood music which is a nice touch for your pleasurable eating experience.
It was amazing experience food was delicious and ambience was outstanding. We ordered masala dosa, hakka noodles, samosa chaat and veg Frankie all was superb we gone come back again. Thanks for Dilbar team for Indian food.
A must try! This is best place to have indian food. We tried pav bhaji, chole bhature, chai, pakora, samosa chat and noodles. All of it is worth it. No regrets!
Situated in the heart of the city, this eatery provides a captivating culinary journey, akin to dining within a prism of colors. The "Deli Chat" is a riot of flavors, bringing together myriad ingredients that dance on your palate. Though the lamb and potato curry boasted generous chunks of lamb, the potato was conspicuously absent. The Momo, dripping in a sweet sauce reminiscent of Chinese cuisine, was the standout dish. In contrast, the lamb rice cakes and vegetable fried rice fell flat in terms of flavor. The overall taste could be likened to that of food court offerings. One might raise an eyebrow at the price tag, which feels disproportionate to the meal's quality, reminiscent of discovering an overpriced item in a thrift shop. Service had its moments of inconsistency, with occasional hiccups. Yet, despite these critiques, dining here feels less like a mere meal and more like an exhilarating gastronomic expedition.
The good here was so good, honestly, some of the best Indian food I have ever had, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Seriously, the food is on point, and you can tell they really care about their dishes and ingredients.
The food here is amazing. I went into this place without any expectations but i was blown away by the taste of some of the dishes i tried. Pani poori, vada pav, Veg Hakka noodles and Chole bhature were out of the world. Even gulab jamun was very yummy. It’s a bit on the pricy side but it’s really worth the taste. My taste buds started dancing after dining here. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone who enjoys the authentic indian food.
Tried their Papdi chat, Bhel puri and Chole bhature (2 small-medium size bhatures per plate). Food was fine...nothing exceptional, nor was it bad. Be prepared to wait a bit for your order to be ready as it seemed like a busy place.
